Absolutelymichelle scored a 7-1 upset in the first of three $16,000 Night Styles divisions at the Meadowlands Thursday night while odds-on favorites Symphony In Motion and Marietta Hall came up victorious in their respective splits. The series is for 4-year-old mares that are non-winners of three extended pari-mutuel races or $50,000 lifetime as of Nov. 15, 2007.

Absolutelymichelle wore down leading Makin' A Statement in deep stretch to post a career-best 1:53.2 victory. Driven by Andy Miller, Absolutelymichelle won by three-quarters of a length over the 4-5 favorite, with Sail Away third.

Trained by Ken Rucker, Absolutelymichelle is a daughter of Western Hanover owned by Engel Stable, Panhellenic Stable Corp. and Sheffield Stable.

Symphony In Motion may have been 1-9, but it took a final quarter of :26.2 that brought the daughter of Bettor's Delight to the wire a neck ahead of the 9-1 Oh What A Lady. Brian Sears was behind Symphony In Motion who posted a career-best 1:52.2 while winning for the third straight time.

Larry Remmen trains the winner for Joseph Jannuzzelli and Carl Demarch.

The 2-5 favorite Marietta Hall had a much easier time of it in the final Night Styles split as the daughter of Cambest cruised to a 3 1/4-length win over Streetcarnamedsire in 1:52.2. George Brennan was in the bike for trainer Steve Elliott and owner Bulletproof Enterprises. Marietta Hall already has four wins and three seconds in seven starts this year, with her win Thursday night bringing her career earnings to $99,622. Last month she won the $50,750 White Ruffles final at the Big M.
