Nine 3-year-old trotters have been entered for the $645,854 Yonkers Trot, which will require an elimination to pare the field to eight on Saturday night. The $605,854 final will be contested on June 28.
This year, unlike the past two years, the Yonkers Trot will be held as the first jewel of trotting's Triple Crown.
The field is as follows:
Post--Horse (Driver)
1--DiManggio (Cat Manzi)
2--Over Ruled (Mike Lachance)
3--First Pleasurelane (Ron Pierce)
4--Big Apple Deli (John Campbell)
5--Ace High Hall (David Miller)
6--Holiday Credit (Ron Pierce)
7--Velocity Hall (Jason Bartlett)
8--Napoleon (Stephane Bouchard)
9--Make It Happen (Ray Schnittker).
DiManggio is the lone gelding, while Make it Happen will start from the second tier.
The Yonkers Trot final will be held in conjunction with the $324,694 final of the Hudson Filly Trot (3-year-old fillies) and eliminations (if necessary) for the Art Rooney Pace (3-year-old colts and geldings). (Yonkers Raceway)
