Trainer Bruce Saunders and owner Frank Bellino got a little bit of a consolation prize at the Meadowlands when their colt Lookinforadventure won the $200,000 New Jersey Sire Stakes final just two races after they watched their horse Rock N Roll Heaven narrowly beaten in the Meadowlands Pace.

Lookinforadventure, ddriven by John Campbell, was way off the pace at the top of the homestretch and Gram's Legacy was on the lead and appeared to be coasting to a victory. But Gram's Legacy, a son of Rocknroll Hanover out of the top filly stakes winner Kikikatie, suddenly and without apparent reason broke stride.

As driver Ron Pierce moved Gram's Legacy off the course and tried to gather him together, Lookinforadventure shifted into high gear and breezed to the wire first, winning in 1:52.

Lookinforadventure, also by Rocknroll Hanover, is now undefeated in three starts for Saunders and Bellino.

In other NJSS championship action, part of the stakes-filled Meadowlands Pace card, trainer Jimmy Takter swept the trots with Thatsnotmyname, a half sister to Muscle Massive, taking the 2-year-old filly trot in 1:56.1 and Leader Of The Gang winning the colt split in 1:56.

Thatsnotmyname, a daughter of Windsong's Legacy, started from post 10 but still was much the best, defeating Global Desire (a half sister to Glidemaster) and Creme de Cocoa (a half sister to Judge Joe).

Leader Of The Gang won by 1 1/2 lengths, with Pierce handling this winner for Takter. The colt by Muscles Yankee is undefeated in three starts.

Ace Of Pace won the pacing filly championship despite starting frompost nine. Driver George Brennan used a first-over  move to put the filly in contention and she won in 1:52.3 over So Perfect, with Myluvmylife, who enjoyed a two-hole trip, finishing third. Ace Of Pace is a daughter of Cam's Card Shark who has now won all three of her starts this season, all at the Meadowlands.
