Simple Task popped out of the pocket in the stretch and drew off to win the $23,100 first of four New Jersey Sire Stakes divisions for 3-year-old filly trotters Wednesday night at the Meadowlands.

Driven and trained by Jimmy Takter, Simple Task bested Queen Serene by 1 3/4 lengths in 1:55.4. It was four lengths back to Klipspringer in third.

A daughter of Yankee Glide-Simply Hanover, Simple Task is a full sister to Hambletonian Oaks and World Filly Trotting Derby winner Silver Springs 3, 1:52.4 ($626,500). Simple Task is owned by Brittany Farms of Versailles, Kentucky.

The other division winners were Penny Dream (Dream Vacation) for Mike Lachance in 1:56.3, Emantee (Banker Hall) for Trond Smedshammer in 1:57.1 and Wherley (Dream Vacation) for John Campbell in 1:57.3.
