The Asbury Park Press is reporting that New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s transition team had originally been amenable to installing a casino at the Meadowlands, but that idea, which was included in a Jan. 4 report, did not make it into the final report on Jan. 5. The transition team included casino industry leaders from Harrah’s, Borgata and the CEO of Trump Entertainment. The ultimate omission of the possibility of a casino at the Meadowlands prompted Mike Gulotta, a horse owner and owner of Deo Volente Farms in Flemington, NJ to write a dissenting minority report.
