Trainer George Teague Jr. told harnessracing.com Friday that he has decided to decline the invitation to send the 2006 Pacer of the Year Total Truth to “It was the (five-week) quarantine period, which would have taken a lot to get done, and it seems that you would almost have to win to make it worth going and missing any racing here,” said Teague, who turned down the offer that also included having his expenses paid by a Down Under sponsor. Total Truth has not raced since the Canadian Pacing Derby final on Aug. 18. He was entered into the Breeders Crown but was scratched from the Sept. 1 race when he developed a bad cough. Total Truth, who turns five on Jan. 1, won twice in just 11 starts this year, increasing his career earnings to $1,878,307 for Teague and his partners that include his sister, Brenda, Rodney Mitchell Inc. and Only Money Inc. "I really don’t have any plan for him when I put him back in training,” Teague answered when asked about a return schedule for Total Truth. “I just have to get him back in motion and don’t have any real heavy plans. There’s nothing to shoot for yet.”
