Eight 3-year-old fillies have been entered for the $291,050 Lady Maud Pace at Yonkers Raceway which means the 48th ediition of the race will go as "one-dash-for-the-cash" a week from Saturday night (Oct. 27). Elimination races, which had been scheduled for this Friday night (Oct. 19), are not necessary. The octet, in alphabetical order are: Artcotic, Captiva Island, Current Hanover, Elusive Prey, Isabella Blue Chip, Marietta Hall, Mind Boggling and Trinity Islands.
A season ago, Darlin's Delight completed her sophomore resume by winning this race en route to divisional honors.
Please note the entry box for the $750,000 (est.) Messenger Stakes, third jewel of the Pacing Triple Crown, closes Tuesday at 4 p.m. Eliminations--if necessary--are scheduled for this Saturday night with the final of the 52nd Messenger set for a week from Saturday night (Oct. 27)...same evening as the Lady Maud.
