The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette has reported Thursday morning that the Pennsylvania State Harness Racing Commission has rejected both Centaur Inc. and Bedford Downs Management Corp.'s applications for the state's fourth and final harness racing license.



According to the story, the commission did not give reasons for rejecting the applicants at a hearing held Thursday morning but said it would do so in about a week. Both applicants can appeal the decision to Commonwealth Court within 30 days. Otherwise, the licensing process will start anew, with both Centaur and Bedford Downs eligible to re-apply.
