There were two major announcements made at the Tuesday afternoon draw for Saturday's Pepsi North America Cup, the first being the change from driver Ron Pierce to Brian Sears behind Kenneth J and the second being the scratch of The Quiet Mon, which resulted in also-eligible Reserve Forces moving in.
The connections of elimination winners Yankee Skyscaper, Tell All and Sutter Hanover were able to choose their posts and they selected the two, three and four, respectively.
The change to Sears was a result of the uncertainty of driver Ron Pierce's status due to his suspension imposed while driving Mr. Muscleman in the Elitlopp in Sweden last month, although he has since been cleared to climb into the sulky only in stakes finals Saturday night. The Quiet Mon's trainer, John Butenschoen, said that the scratch was a result of filling and heat in both front legs.
Here is the complete draw for the $1.5 million Pepsi North America Cup, with announced drivers and morning line.
