The draw has been held for the 2008 SprinterChampionship for 4-year-olds, also the second leg in the Euro Classic Trot, and as the starting lists indicate, it is no longer just a classic Swedish stakes race. Among the field will be last year's Hambletonian runner-up Adrian Chip.
The starting lists also show that the race has a great representation by North American-bred trotters, which in the lists below are denoted with *.
The “Ås” horses are a mix--they have been bred in the US and registered in Sweden. There are also French, German and Italian-bred trotters in the field. The horses who are 100 percent Swedish bred would not have filled a single elim!
The eliminations and final will be held Thursday July 3, over the five-eighths mile Halmstad track. The winners of the elims earn $15,000 with the final winner taking home $157,000. Sprinter Championship - 1st elim 1,609 meters (slightly less than one mile), autostart Post--Horse--Driver
