A fire in a transformer in front of the Northfield Village Police Department knocked out power to most of Northfield Park Wednesday, and due to the fire, repairs to the transformer cannot be made in time for the track to complete tonight's card by the state-mandated midnight finish time.
The Police Department is about a half mile south of the track. (Northfield Park)
