Northville shut til March 1

Northville Downs has been ordered by the Michigan Office of Racing Commissioner to remain closed for live racing through March 1 as a result of the recent outbreak of equine herpes virus at the track.



In addition to the cancellation, there is a quarantine in place prohibiting any horse from leaving or entering the track until March 1. The track will remain open for simulcasting.



Under separate authority of the ORC, all horses planning to enter any of the seven licensed pari-mutuel facilities in the state are required to be vaccinated for EHV effective immediately. Proof of an EHV, also known as Equine Rhino-pneumonitis, vaccination within a six-month period must be provided to track officials prior to any horse being accepted.
