July 18, 2009 Send To A Friend  | Print View

Not Enough kept her season’s undefeated streak intact while Windsong Filou won her second straight in Friday’s two $38,974 Canadian Breeders Championship eliminations for 3-year-old pacing fillies at Mohawk Racetrack.

Not Enough, who was making her first start since setting a stakes record in the $680,000 Fan Hanover Final on June 27th, grabbed early control in the first split for driver Luc Ouellette in a :26.3 opening quarter.

Town Pro Series champion My Red High Heels landed in the pocket position and followed the pacesetter through a half in :55.3 and three-quarters in 1:24.3. The top pair took off on the field turning for home with My Red High Heels tipping out to take a shot at the leader but falling a
half length short at the finish in 1:52.1. It was another 2-1/2 lengths back to Arts Star who finished third.

Not Enough, a daughter of Grinfromeartoear-Party Planner is now undefeated in eight starts this season for Tracy Brainard who trains for Bulletproof Enterprises of Boca Raton, Florida. The winner’s share of the purse increased her seasonal earnings to a whopping $671,000.

Windsong Filou used a similar front-end approach in winning the second elimination gate-to-wire for driver Keith Oliver. The daughter of Astreos - Jasper Avenue held off the pocket-sitting Coming Late with Shacked Up flying late to pick up third after encountering stalled cover
on the final turn.

Windsong Filou, who was coming off an upset win in a $130,000 Ontario Sire Stakes Gold Final at Georgian Downs, was winning for the second time in nine tries this season for trainer Carl Jamieson, who co-owns along with Thomas Kyron, Dr. Michael Wilson and the Lobro Stables of Ontario. Her seasonal earnings now stand at just over $231,000.

The $181,877 Canadian Breeders Championship Final will go postward as part of Maple Leaf Trot night on Saturday, July 25 at Mohawk. Here’s a look at the field in post position order:
