Published reports state that an agreement has been reached between Ocean Downs and the Cloverleaf Standardbred Owners Association that calls for the Cloverleaf’s board of directors voted unanimously to approve the contract, preferring it over a 15-year option that included a profitability clause. The new contract is only valid for the full term if track owner William Rickman is awarded a slots license, which comes at a cost of $3 million.
"In negotiations, it's give and take," Cloverleaf president Tom Cooke was quoted as saying. "That's what he was giving, so that's what we took."
