The Ohio State Racing Commission on Wednesday approved the pending sale of Beaulah Park, the Thoroughbred track in Columbus, to Penn National Gaming Inc. The sale will give Penn National a second gambling facility in Ohio since it already owns Raceway Park.
The Ohio Commission also approved the sale of Thistletown, the Thoroughbred track in Cleveland, to Harrah's Entertainment Inc. Harrah's is paying $43 million for the track, which has been owned by Magna Entertainment, which has been in bankruptcy proceedings.
