Former Ohio-based trainer Gale Dubbs has died in a single-car accident near Greenville. The accident occurred either late Saturday night or early Sunday morning, with the local police finding the crash sight around 10 a.m. Sunday after receiving a tip from passing motorist. A native of Indiana, Mr. Dubbs was 68.
According to the U.S. Trotting Association, Mr. Dubbs had 58 driving wins and $63,100 in purse earnings. As a trainer, he won the $59,850 Violet final for 2-year-old filly trotters at Balmoral Park on Oct. 13, 1996, with Snafu Scores
