One shining moment for Chloes Silver Star

Ultra-consistent Chloes Silver Star turned back seven rivals on the way to a 1:53.1 victory in the $26,000 Open Handicap Pace at Dover Downs on a chilly Tuesday.
 
Ron Pierce took Chloes Silver Star three wide around the final turn and then jetted away to her third win of the meet taking this week's distaff feature for Gary Evans and Foulk Stables Inc. Alice's Restaurant finished second with Tony Morgan for the second straight start while Nidya A closed strongly for Ross Wolfenden to finish third.
 
So far with the meet passing its first quarter, Chloes Silver Star has now won three times with three seconds and two thirds in her eight races, all in Open competition. A daughter of Canadian stallion Intrepid Seelster from Silver Chloe, the now 6 year old has won $38,116 lifetime.
 
One race earlier Eric Goodell put Bernard Segebade's Boots Place into high gear after the three-quarters and the Park Place-Put The Boots 5 year old zoomed to the lead and won with ease in 1:52.4. Rusty Again came on for Ron Pierce to finish second in front of Tug River Aussie with Brad Hanners.
 
Frank Milby and Irwin Samelman's Boca Hanover teamed for a second consecutive victory in a $15,000 mares pace recording a 1:55.1 triumph. Hopefull N (Jim Morand) was runner-up. TE's Cammie (Pierce) was the show horse.

In the $12,500 feature trot, Jack Parker Jr., driving 7-1 Early Shirley, stalked leader DiManggio (Tony Morgan) from the start, then rolled down the passing lane to reach the finish line in 1:57.4 for owners Chris Yochim and Daryl Glazer. Powerful Committee (Vince Copeland) passed third-place DiManggio in the final strides to finish second. (Dover Downs)
