Only 4 entered in Rooney Pace at Yonkers

Only four 3-year-old were entered for Yonkers Raceway's Art Rooney Pace, and only four fillies were entered in its companion event, the Lismore. Both races shall be contested a week from Saturday night, June 12. The purse of the Rooney is $250,000, while the Lismore goes for $150,000. Post positions will be drawn Tuesday, June 8.

 

The entrants for the Rooney are He’s Gorgeous, One More Laugh, Tobago Cays and We Will See. The Lismore entrants will be A And G’s  Princess, Aries Angel, Dancinwiththestarz and It's De Lovely.

 

"We are obviously very disappointed at the lack of interest shown in two of our premier races," general manager Bob Galterio said. "We're going to re-evalaute both events, but we have to receive better support from owners and trainers for them to continue in any form."
