Outgoing president Whelan, who was nominated but declined, said: "I wish Bill all the best and told him he has my complete support. I ask all horsepeople, OHHA members and others, to rally behind Bill. At this time I believe that a leadership change is in the best interests of the industry. I have had a long run as president and look forward to racing horses and being with my family. I thank all the horsepeople and industry representatives for their support over the last nine years."
