Open division draws 23; Oaks attracts 21 fillies

Deweycheatumnhowe has drawn post four in the second of three $70,000 eliminations Saturday for the Hambletonian at the Meadowlands, with the classic test for 3-year-old colt and gelding trotters drawing 23 entries. The top three finishers in each elim and the fourth-place finisher with the highest lifetime earnings will advance to the $1.5 million final Saturday afternoon, Aug. 2.

 

In the companion Hambletonian Oaks for 3-year-old fillies, 21 have been entered with the anticipated favorite, Snow White, drawing post six in the second of three $35,000 eliminations. The same rules apply for determining the field for the $750,000 final.

 

Post time for Saturday’s card at the Big M is 7 p.m. Also on the program are the four $250,000 Classic Series finals for older horses.
