Open trotter Haulin Laser tops Blooded Horse Sale

Interest was high for competitive racehorses at the 50th Annual Blooded Horse Winter Sale in Delaware, Ohio. Haulin Laser topped the two day venue at $30,000. Scott DiDomenico of New Jersey signed the ticket for the Broadway Hall open-class trotter that earned $60,000 last year.

Burke Racing Stable LLC, once again, brought a strong consignment of "drop in the box” racehorses. These were led by the Open pacing mare Can't Stop Me purchased by Chad Foulk for $24,000, who also got the $25,000 claiming stablemate Bea Me Now for $17,000. Trainer Mark Ford picked up the competitive conditioned pacer Secret's Out for $20,000, while Ed Zubkoff was the winner at $16,000 on the ultra-consistent claiming trotter Stone Valley.

Joe Sbrocco's handsome conditioned trotter Campo Basso was purchased by Rene Allard for $17,000. Allard had earlier sold the solid $15,000 claiming trotter Smuggler Hall for $15,000 to Steve Andzel of New York.

Robert McIntosh brought a nice consignment of two year olds that featured the beautiful Camluck Filly Count On Cam. The sister to Lucky Encounter p,4,1:51.4 was purchased by Michael Hale of Michigan for $13,000.

The broodmares were led by Walnut Hall Ltd's Ferrara's Girl 5,1:55.2f at $13,000. In foal to Deweycheatumnhowe, the winner of 18 races went to Spring Haven Farm, agent. Kenneth and Jana Rucker of Wisconsin were the winning bidders for the lovely Artsplace mare Ty Chi Hanover p,3,1:53.1 in foal to Shadow Play for $11,500. Camturo p,6,1:52.2f, in foal to promising Ohio sire Big Bad John, brought $11,000 from Jim Coffman.
