Our Beer Buddy romps

April 29, 2006 Send To A Friend  | Print View

Our Beer Buddy went wire to wire and romped to a 6 1/4-length victory in the Taser Gun elimination at Maywood Park in a career-best 1:54.1 Friday night.

Sam Widger was in the bike as the 3-year-old Sportsmaster gelding defeated Third Day and Mack In Black for his second triumph of the season in nine starts for trainer Paul Stafford and The Panhellenic Stable Corp.

My Boy David, winner of last year’s Cardinal and Abe Lincoln Stakes, finished fourth in his first start of the year after making a break going to the opening quarter.

The race was not a true elimination. The scratch of Wonderful One allowed all seven finishers to advance to next weeks $18,000 final where they will be joined by Fox Valley Cruiser.
