Owners of Corleone Kosmos want a shot at Donato

The racing season might be winding down, but the owners of Corleone Kosmos are game for one more big race this season for their free-for-all trotter--if it could be a winner-take-all showdown with Donato Hanover.

 

Arthur and Scott Rudolf and Bernard Owen, who bought Corleone Kosmos as a yearling and have owned him ever since, are reportedly game to put up a “starting fee” of sorts, to be matched by the owners of Donato Hanover and the Meadowlands, with the winner of the battle taking the entire purse.

 

Corleone Kosmos has earned $705,848 this season while Donato Hanover has bankrolled $2.2 million. Donato Hanover has the Breeders Crown coming up next weekend (if eliminations are necessary) and the following weekend.

 

After Donato Hanover captured the Kentucky Futurity, his owners expressed an interest in taking on the older trotters in an invitational at the Meadowlands.
