P-Glide in Bluegrass Friday

Return Home
September 29, 2006 Send To A Friend  | Print View

Passionate Glide looks to keep her unblemished 2006 record intact for the Takter stable in the first $99,300 Bluegrass division Friday afternoon, Sept. 29, at The Red Mile. She has won all nine of her starts and $833,750 this season for owner Brittany Farms, most recently the $234,500 Moni Maker final here at The Red Mile. Ron Pierce has driven the Yankee Glide filly throughout her remarkable career and will be in the sulky on Friday.

The second trot is led by Quick Credit (by Credit Winner), winner of the New York Sire Stakes final at both two and three for trainer Paul Kelley. Quick Credit has some history at The Red Mile as well, having won her division of both the Bluegrass and International Stallion Stakes last year at two for driver John Campbell, who will be aboard on Friday for partners Kelley Racing Stable and Valley High Stable.

Four Starz Lindy is the morning line choice in the third split. The Dream Vacation lass has been improving with each start for Four Starzzzz Racing and comes in to this one off of a sharp second in the Moni Maker. Brian Sears retains the mount for trainer Trond Smedshammer.

On the pacing front, My Little Dragon (Dragon Again) loved The Red Mile last year and will add Lasix for this start. She has been no worse than second in her career for owners Adam Victor & Son Stable and finished second in the Nadia Lobell earlier this month after setting all the fractions over a tiring racetrack.

Division two continues the ongoing battle between Kentucky-bred fillies Designer Gal (Cambest), owned by Brittany and Daisy Acres, and Grandiose Gal (Jate Lobell), racing for the Lightning Stable. Both have been competing successfully in state-bred events over the past month and are a good match. Designer Gal gets the post-position edge here, drawing the rail for trainer Erv Miller while Grandiose Gal, from the Tony Mannino barn, starts from the outside in post six.

Twenty-eight 3-year-old trotting fillies required three divisions, while thirteen 3-year-old filly pacing entrants required two. All divisions will race for a purse of right at $100,000.
