Pace post positions

The draw for the $1 million Meadowlands Pace Final on July 18 was held live on the Clubhouse Level television set after the field was decided by a pair of $50,000 elimination races.
 
Well Said was installed the 6-5 morning line favorite after a decisive 1:49.2 score in his elimination.  Driver Ron Pierce and trainer Steve Elliott won the coin toss to select their post position first and chose to start from post three.  Well Said bids for his second million-dollar win this season in the Meadowlands Pace.  His 1:48.1 score in the North America Cup on June 27 at Mohawk was a stakes, track and Canadian record.  The son of Western Hanover enters the Meadowlands Pace with a slate of eight wins in 17 career starts and just under $1.3 million in earnings for owners Jeff Snyder of New York, NY and Lothlorien of Cheltenham, Ontario.
 
Hypnotic Blue Chip's connections were next to pick their post position and chose to start from post four with the evening's other elimination winner.  Hypnotic Blue Chip got up in the final strides to win his elimination split in a career best 1:49.2.  He is rated as the 4-1 second choice.
