Pennsylvania Sire Stakes champion Native Bride posted a career-best 1:50 victory Friday afternoon at The Red Mile as she easily won the $14,000 Leah Almahurst late-closer for 3-year-old filly pacers in a battle of some of the region's finest stars. Brian Sears was in the sulky as the daughter of Allamerican Native scored her 11th win in 15 starts this year.

Also in the six-filly field was Ohio Sire Stakes runner-up Cruzin Inja Jammys, and she had to settle for second behind the Pennsylvania champ for driver David Miller. Indiana Sire Stakes champion EJ's Copperstone was third for Ron Pierce.

Native Bride is owned by Sears's father, Jay, in partnership with TH Stable. Prior to arriving at The Red Mile she was trained by Joe Pavia Jr., but is racing in Lexington under the conditioning of Noel Daley. Now a 14-time winner in 18 career starts, Native Bride increased her 2008 earnings to $243,050 with the victory and $249,300 lifetime.
