Pacific Illusion Rallies

Pacific Illusion, driven by John Campbell, followed the outside flow and moved five-wide in the stretch, getting up for a three-quarter length victory in the $54,250 White Ruffles final at the Meadowlands Wednesday night.



Pacific Illusion paced the mile in a lifetime best 1:54.1, edging Wind Storm. Bottom Dealer was third by 2 1/4 lengths. Smashingpringipisa, the even money favorite, faded to fifth.



Campbell, who won the Super Bowl final with Rumsfeld Tuesday night, made it back-to-back Winter Series finals with his fifth White Ruffles victory. The mare is trained by Wayne Givens.



Pacific Illusion, a 4-year-old daughter of Pacific, posted her first victory in three starts this year and fourth in 18 career starts. She has a career bankroll of $50,173 for Vicki Givens, Sharon White and Louie Paglierani.
