Two new track records for trotters were set on Wednesday’s program at Harrington Raceway. Jim Morand and Nanticoke Racing’s Nice Dream set a new mark for 3-year-old trotting geldings with a 1:57.3 victory with Morand driving. The Les Givens-trainee has now won 12 of 28 career starts.
Meanwhile, Carol and Jim Atkinson’s Impel Hanover, with driver Roger Plante Jr., made his Harrington debut a winning one and in strong fashion, breaking the mark for 4-year-old trotting horses with a 1:57.2 triumph. Trained by Jim Atkinson, it was his fourth win of the season.
In the featured $21,700 Junior Open Trot, Victor Kirby and Matthew Ivory’s Allmar Surprise earned her second straight win, in 1:56. (Harrington)
