Pampered Princess scores

Pampered Princess romped to a 1:55 victory in the $531,800 ( C ) Elegantimage final for 3-year-old filly trotters at Mohawk Raceway Saturday night, giving driver John Campbell a sweep of the two 3-year-old stakes for trotters. Godiva Hall won a stretch battle with Vulcanize to be a distant second.

JM Aggie, Keystone Shana and Sing Me To Sleep took themselves out of contention with breaks before the quarter, which was reached in 28 by Likely Volo. But as soon as she hit the backstretch Campbell moved Pampered Princess from the two hole into the lead.

The daughter of Andover Hall trotted past the half in :58.1 and the three quarters in 1:26.4. Trevor Ritchie tried to mount a challenge with Godiva Hall, but he quickly went back to the pylons as Pampered Princess began to draw off.

Owned by Bob Anderson and his son, David, Pampered Princess won her second race of the year in three starts for trainer Jimmy Takter. Last year’s Dan Patch 2-year-old filly trotter of the year, she has 12 wins in 15 lifetime starts.
