The filly Pampered Princess is taking on the boys again, this time in the Canadian Trotting Classic, and Mythical Lindy has been entered in the race as well, back on track after being diagnosed with EPM. Two eliminations will be raced Saturday, Sept. 8, to determine the field for the $1 million Canadian Trotting Classic (CTC), set to be contested at Mohawk on Sept. 15. Hambletonian champion and World Trotting Derby winner Donato Hanover will start from post seven in the first elimination; Pampered Princess is set to square off against 14-time winner Val Taurus, who has been campaigned in Quebec, in the second elim. Pampered Princess will be reunited with John Campbell, who has driven in all but three of her races, including the Hambletonian elimination and final, when Tim Tetrick was up behind the filly. Mythical Lindy, the runner-up to Donato After the inopportune scratch, Mythical Lindy was taken to the famed Rood & Riddle Veterinary Clinic in Mythical Lindy qualified at The Red Mile on Aug. 31, winning in 1:56.3 with a :27.1 last quarter, but the colt’s trainer, Jim Arledge Jr., says the Canadian Trotting Classic will be a tough test for the colt. “I’m not sure he’s ready for those other horses yet, but we’re going to take a shot,” said Arledge.
