Great Success (1:55.2) and Godiva Hall (1:54.4) captured the Matron events for 3-year-old trotters Sunday night at Dover Downs, with both horses brushing up the inside lane in the final yards to put their nose on the wire first.
Great Success, driven by Brian Sears, edged by the pacesetting Prayer I Am, driven by John Campbell. Prayer I Am, whos tarted from post seven, was sent away from the gate strongly by Campbell and held off the first-over rally of betting choice Ogham before being caught by Great Success.

Godiva Hall, with Trond Smedshammer at the lines, took the early lead in the 3-year-old filly trot, but then yielded to Vulcanize, driven by Steve Condren, as the field passed the grandstand. Meanwhile, 4-5 betting choice Pampered Princess was racing sixth after being taken back at the start by Campbell.
Vulcanize hit the halfway mark in :56 and the three-quarter station in 1:25.2 before Pampered Princess pulled alongside the leader. But then Godiva Hall shot through the inside and put her nose on the wire before Pampered Princess,w ho trotted four wide through the homestretch.
Godiva Hall, a daughter of Like A Prayer, now has four wins in 12 starts this season. The 1:54.4 score was a career best for the filly.
