Panaramic Art's 20-race winning streak was ended when Mr. Feelgood beat him in a $50,000 leg of the George Morton Levy Series Saturday night atYonkers Raceway. Two other Levy splits were won by Took Hanover and Special Report.
Mr. Feelgood, the winner of the 2006 Little Brown Jug and this year's Isle of Capri final, started from post three with driver Andy Miller and controlled the third leg division. The duo then held off Panaramic Art, driven by Greg Grismore, who was making his first start off of a March 20 qualifier at the Meadowlands. Earlier this year Panaramic Art won the Clyde Hirt and Exit 16W Series finals at the Big M.
Took Hanover bested Maltese Artist, the pocket sitter, by 1 1/2 lengths in 1:52.1 in the opening Levy split. Greg Merton drove Took Hanover for trainer Noel Daley. The 5-year-old son of The Panderosa had won the Open at Yonkers in his previous start.
The second Levy division went to Special Report, who eked out the victory in a three-horse photo. prevailing over Gold Dust Beach and Rare Jewel.
Driven by Larry Stalbaum, Special Report hit the wire in 1:54 for his fourth win in 10 starts this year. He was edged by Mr. Feelgood in his previous start, at the Meadowlands.
