Fred Monteleone’s Paper Luck ($4.00) went over the $200,000 mark in career earnings Saturday at the isle pompano park after he posted a one length triumph in the third race $7,700 pace. Trained and driven to victory by Bruce Ranger, Paper Luck followed pacesetter Eleven AM (George Napolitano, Jr.) right from the start of the race and those two were never contested. Paper Luck used perfect cover from Eleven Am to rally in the stretch with an easy victory in 1:51.4. Eleven AM held for second with Star Role (Tom Harmer) third. It was the fourth win this year and the 20th career victory for Paper Luck, a five-year-old gelded son of Camluck. Owned by the Fred Monteleone Stable of Pompano Beach, Paper Luck now sports career earnings of $203,318. Paper Luck’s time was not the fastest mile on the evening program as in the very first race, Miracle Believer ($3.00) and driver Kevin Wallis led from start to finish with a two length triumph in 1:51.2 over Rickards Ed (George Napolitano, Jr.) and Keep On Dreamin (Chuck Connors, Jr.). Wallis had the hot hands for the evening with three winners. (Pompano)
