July 12, 2006 Send To A Friend  | Print View

Four-year-old pacer Paragon set a Georgian Downs all-age track record Tuesday night, capturing a $17,000(C) conditioned pace in 1:51.2. Driven by Jody Jamieson, Paragon lowered the previous mark of Armbo Balmoral by one-fifth of a second; it also lowered the mark for older pacers by two-fifths.,

Trainer Tony Montini and partners Basil Michele, Adelio Cicchetti and Paul Giammichele purchased Paragon last January at a mixed sale for $95,000. This was the third win of the year for the son of Cambest, increasing his seasonal earnings to more than $98,000. Paragon is a full brother to Canyon Wind p, 1:48.4 ($649,467).
