Whotookwhat ended an uncharacteristically long drought on Thursday at The Meadows, using a powerful first-over move to capture the $18,000 Filly and Mare Open Trot in 1:55.2, a career best. The 6-year-old Inquirer mare has won 43 times in 105 career starts but, despite a string of place and show finishes, had been absent from the winner's circle since mid-April. She took care of that Thursday when Ray Paver sent her after the leader, Tom’s OK Lady, without cover. Whotookwhat disposed of that rival and won wrapped up by 2 1/2 lengths. Pembroke Spice finished second but was disqualified and placed back to third for interfering with Tich, who was promoted to place. Paver trains Whotookwhat, a career winner of $462,404, for William and Barbara Paull. (The Meadows)
