Peaceful Way qualifies

Peaceful Way successfully qualified in 1:53.4 at Mohawk Friday morning, coming home in :27.3 with Trevor Ritchie aboard. The 5-year-old mare by Angus Hall made a break in her first qualifier on May 23. Ritchie told Standardbred Canada it was due to dirt hitting her in the face.

Peaceful Way has earned nearly $2 million lifetime. Last year she captured her first Breeders Crown title along with Dan Patch honors for co-owners Goin My Way Stable, Marvin Katz, Al Libfeld, Sam Goldband, breeder Angie Stiller and trainer David Tingley.

Cincinnati Kid, winner of $717,000, finished fourth in 1:58 with Steve Condren up. The 5 year old is also by Angus Hall.

In the second qualifier, 3-year-old filly champ, Style, won in 1:55.3. The Rustler Hanover filly paced in 1:53.1 and made $443,659 last year for co-owners Goerge Hempt and breeder Glengate Farms.
