Pedigree Snob stole the lead at the top of the stretch and drew off to a two and three-quarter lengths victory in the $431,000 Sweetheart Pace for two-year-old fillies Friday night at the Meadowlands.

Tim Tetrick piloted Pedigree Snob to a stakes record 1:51.4 in the night’s sixth race.  The previous record was 1:52.2 and was held by both Clover Hanover and Isabelle Blue Chip.  Right Right finished second and Notjustaprettyface was three and a quarter lengths behind in third.  Pedigree Snob paid $4.80.

“Well I was hoping Girls Nite Out’s first quarter of :27 took a little bit out of John’s mare [Campbell and GNO],” Tetrick said.  “Thank god it worked out.  My mare is big and strong and it doesn’t seem like it bothers her much.  She’s real strong and tough and Jim has done a great job with her.  When I pulled the plugs, at the top of the lane, she shifted gears and went by John’s mare strong enough.  She paced all the way to the wire.”

Pedigree Snob has won two of four career starts for trainer Jim Aldredge Jr.  Owned by David Scharf of
New York, NY and Steve Jones of Montgomery, NY, the daughter of Allamerican Native-Hallmark Hanover has accumulated over $490,000 in earnings.

On the Friday night undercard, Snow White cruised to a 1:53.2 victory in the $30,000 Duenna Invitational for three-year-old filly trotters. (Meadowlands)
