The Pennsylvania House passed a bill permitting table games at state casinos and racinos early Wednesday night, which moves the bill to the desk of Gov. Ed Rendell. The vote on the bill was 103-89.
The Senate passed the bill Tuesday night by a 28-22 margin and Rendell has said he will immediately sign the bill since it will allow him to balance the state's budget and avert laying off up to 1,000 state employees.
According to estimates, the bill will bring in $250 million to the state. The horse racing industry will not receive revenue from table game play.
