Perfect Launch and Jim Morrill Jr. took down the second division of the New York State Fair Stakes for 2-year old pacing fillies on Sunday afternoon at Tioga Downs. The mile of 1:54.3 established a new lifetime mark for the 2-year old daughter of Riverboat King out of the Topnotcher mare Cambridge United.
Linda Toscano trains Perfect Launch, who was a $30,000 yearling purchase by owner Ken Jacobs. The 2-year old pacing filly has three wins and a second in four lifetime starts with earnings of more than $45,000.
B Intensified continued her three-race winning streak with Morrill in the sulky for trainer Carmine Fusco. Morrill took control of the race past the three-eighths pole and never looked back, defending off all challengers throughout the mile. The mile of 1:54.4 was just a fifth of a second off the lifetime mark that was established at Vernon Downs in her last start.
Morrill posted a driving grand slam on the 12-race card which brought his weekend total to nine. (Tioga Downs)
