Billy Perkins, who has been serving as race secretary at Player's Bluegrass Downs, has been appointed to handle the same duties during the early fall 2009 harness meet at The Red Mile. The Red Mile will open its 2009 meet on Aug. 2 and race three days a week before the Grand Circuit begins on Tuesday, Sept. 29.
Connie Hochstetler will continue in her duties as race secretary for the Grand Circuit meet which, which wraps up on Saturday, Oct. 10.
In addition to working at Bluegrass Downs, Perkins will also cover the Kentucky circuit at Thunder Ridge Raceway in Prestonsburg. Previously he served as the race secretary at Sports Creek Raceway in Michigan, Hawthorne Race Course in Chicago and Rosecroft Raceway in Maryland.
