The long shot Personal Ad rode her first-over cover beautifully as she captured Friday’s $22,500 Fillies and Mares Preferred/Not Listed Preferred Handicap Pace at The Meadows.
Dismissed at 12-1, Personal Ad was pacing in fifth when Aaron Merriman tipped her off the pylons, where she picked up the live cover of Summer Hope. While Summer Hope flickered in the lane, Personal Ad powered on to score in 1:55 over a track listed “good.” Tremor Hanover finished second, 2 3/4 lengths back, with Don’t Blame Her a rallying third.
Kent Sherman trains Personal Ad, a 5-year-old daughter of Artiscape-Looknforagirllikeu who now boasts $226,160 in career earnings, for Kor-Ans Stables.
Dave Palone drove six winners--four for trainer Ron Burke--while Doug Snyder and Merriman each fashioned a triple on the 15-race card. (The Meadows)
