Photo Maxx, Prayer I Am win trot Qs at Big M

Photo Maxx, a Hambletonian-eligible colt by SJ’s Photo, won a qualifier at the Meadowlands Thursday morning in 1:55.2, defeating another Hambo eligible, Flirtin Man, by a neck.

Photo Maxx was making his first start of the year for trainer Jimmy Takter and driver Marcus Johansson after a 4—1-1-0 freshman season in 2006. A $50,000 yearling purchase at Lexington, he is owned by Photo Maxx Partners of Versailles, Ky.

Flirtin Man’s last start was a last-place finish as the favorite in an elimination for the Goodtimes at Mohawk. Prior to that race the Angus Hall colt had run off five straight wins to start the season.

In another qualifier, Prayer I Am romped to a 1:53 victory by 19 lengths with John Campbell in the bike.

The Like A Prayer colt has been winless in five starts this year after capturing the $200,000 Kentucky Sire Stakes final at The Red Mile and the American National at Balmoral Park.

Kevin Thomas trains the colt for owner Roy Dobbins of Bryant, Ala.
