One lucky ticket connected all the winners for a $131,071.20 payoff in the Pick 6 on Friday night at the Meadowlands. The payoff was a record for a $1 base wager at the Meadowlands. There was a $58,491.60 carryover entering Friday’s card, which attracted an additional $120,966 in Pick 6 wagering.

The first leg of the Pick 6 saw Miss Galvinator’s 13-race streak fall to Nanny Withafanny [$10.60] in the $35,000 opening round of the Cape & Cutter Series, race four. Driven by Cat Manzi, Nanny Withafanny capitalized on an early speed duel between 4-5 favorite Miss Galvinator and 3-1 second choice Street Dancer to tally a head victory in 1:51.1.

Favorites did not disappoint in the next two races. In the fifth race, Seminole Spur paid $3.40 to win his third straight in rein to Brian Sears, while 6-5 Double Dream and Ron Pierce [$4.60] took the sixth race. Pierce also steered double-digit winner Two Weeks Notice [$12.80] to victory in the eighth race.

The longest shot on the Friday card, 25-1 Striking Mystery, paid $52.20 to win the seventh race winners-over trot with Yannick Gingras in the sulky. In race nine, the final leg of the Pick 6, JK CU Later extended his winning streak to six for driver Ron Pierce and trainer Ron Burke in the $20,000 opening round of the Exit 16W Series.

The Pick 6 consolation for five winners was worth $154. The next Pick 6, which spans races four through nine, is Saturday night at the Meadowlands. (Meadowlands press release)
