There are plenty of potential princesses in the upcoming $25,000(C) opener of the Princess Pacing Series for 3-year-old fillies Thursday night at Woodbine. But one that bears particular attention is the Allamerican Native daughter, Blogette Hanover, who is half of the entry from the shedrow of conditioner John Burns. Blogette Hanover, who was unraced at two, has racked up an impressive record already at three. In nine starts, she has visited the winner’s circle six times, while moving steadily up in class. Though she has been troubled by breaks in stride on a couple of occasions, she is improving versatility-wise as well. Her first few wins, all at the Woodbine oval, came with front-end trips, but in her most recent start on April 10, she stalked the leaders for much of the mile and surged to win by a head in the final strides. Blogette Hanover’s stablemate, Gargantua Hanover, has a way to go to match that six in nine record, but since moving to Burns’s shedrow from the tutelage of James "Friday" Dean this winter, she has certainly been knocking on the door. While the daughter of The Panderosa still can boast only one victory in 13 lifetime starts, she has picked up two cheques for second-place efforts, as well as a third, a fourth, and a fifth in five starts. Together, the Burns fillies have been rated at 8-5 in the morning line. Blogette Hanover will have Randy Waples in the bike to guide her from post position two, while Gargantua Hanover will leave from post six, with Luc Ouellette at the lines. The opening round of the Princess Pacing Series is featured on the April 23 card along with the $47,200(C) final of the Tie Silk Trotting Series, for sophomore colts. (WEG)
