Driver Ron Pierce piloted Arty Foster's Devil's Ivy to his fifth win of the year, a 1:54.1 decision in a $15,000 pace. The Camluck-Idylwood Legend gelding has now won $117,304 this season. Roll Call (Ross Wolfenden) was second in front of Lavros Jasper N (Roger Plante).
Jon Roberts drove Bobby Glassmeyer's Perfect Swing around horses at the top of the lane to corral Fountain Of Youth (Brad Hanners) in midstretch on the way to a 1:52.4 victory to win a Delaware $20,000 claiming allowance. Bullion Bill A (Pierce) rolled down the passing lane to finish second with Fountain Of Youth holding on for third.
Carolyn Layton and John Wilkerson's Grand Duke Hanover sped down the passing lane for Frank Milby to catch Ruffled Tux (Corey Callahan) in the final stride for a 1:53.1 victory in an $11,400 pace. Mysticalconnection (Jason Lynch) was the third horse.
Race favorite The Vatican answered the prayers of his backers in the $9,000 trot with Dylan Davis steering the 1:59 victory. Davis and Mike Casalino own the 3-year-old son of Cantab Hall now a two-time winner this year. The Felton Queen (Roger Plante) was runner-up. Keep Her Tight (Vince Copeland) was the show finisher.
