The Tournament of Four Nations driving competition, held at the Biasuzzi family’s Treviso track in Italy, concluded Wednesday and Italy and Roberto Andreghetti were the big winners. Andreghetti swept all four of the races Wednesday, giving Italy the tournament victory. U.S. representatives Mike Lachance and Ron Pierce each posted victories in the competition on Tuesday but couldn't best Andreghetti on Wednesday.

Pierce and Lachance finished third and fourth, respectively, in the first race of Wednesday’s competition. Lachance was third in the second race while Pierce finished next to last.

The Tournament of Four Nations was a competition between four countries: Italy, Sweden, Germany and the U.S. Pierce and Lachance are representing the U.S. Heinz Wewering, the winningest driver in harness racing, is representing his native country of Germany while Torborn Jansson.

Lachance and Pierce both won races Tuesday night. After finishing last in the first of four challenge races Lachance came back to post a victory in the second. Pierce earned his victory in the fourth race of the tournament.

Lachance directed Creso Egral to a win in a mile rate of 2:03.4 for the 1,660 meters. Pierce drove Cannone Caf to victory in a race contested over 2,100 meters. Lachance finished last in that event.

Pierce finished third in the first race and last in the second race won by Lachance. The first race was won by Andreghetti and Danubio RL in a mile rate of 2:04 over 1,660 meters.

Wewering of Germany, the winningest driver in the world, captured the third race with Canigia. Pierce finished fourth in that event while Lachance was fifth.
