Driver Ron Pierce has received a 10-day suspension in the aftermath of the Breeders Crown elimination accident that left John Campbell with a broken leg and a horse dead. Pierce was driving Total Truth in the second elim Saturday, Oct. 28, at Woodbine when the colt bore in at the wire, taking the legs of Shark Gesture out from underneath him. Campbell, following with Scootin Delight, went over the fallen horse, resulting in the Hall of Famer's injuries and the ultimate euthanization of Scootin Delight.
