Pink Camo in track record at Scioto

Pink Camo set a new track record for her new owners and trainer on Thursday night with her 1:52.4 victory in a division of the State Fair Managers Pace for driver Tony Hall.

Hall moved the 1-5 favorite to the front soon after the start and she drew off in the stretch to win by 5-1/4 lengths over Cating Around and Two Friskie.

The winner is trained by Ron Burke for the Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi, Jason Melillo, and Richard Suda. The daughter of Pine Valley was trained and owned by Tye Loy until recently. She�s now won twice in four starts.

Hall also scored in another division of the State Fair Managers Pace with One Naughty Lady in 1:56. He kept her off the pace set by Igottafeelinfran and caught the 1-5 favorite in the stretch to win by a length. Melissa L, sent off at odds of 136-1, rallied from behind to get third.

One Naugty Lady is trained by John Ryan Melsheimer for popular owner Joyce A. McClelland and the DM Stables. It was her second career win in four tries.

Sophomore trotting fillies did battle in two divisions of the Pride Of Ohio Trot and Rose Run Nellie and Wardon�s Daughter came away as winners.

Rose Run Nellie was sent off at 4-5 odds and won easily by two lengths in 1:58.1. Trainer-driver-owner Scott Cox sent her to the front after the opening quarter and rebuffed a challenge by Cinca De Maya.

�She�s not the best on the front end, so when Kayne [Kauffman] came with his filly[Cinca De Maya], I thought about letting her go, but it worked out,� said Cox afterwards.

Cinca De Maya was unable to get past the pacesetter, but finished second in a photo over Rose Run Natassia.

Wardon�s Daughter was sent away at 3-5 odds and she moved to the lead before the half-mile marker and had enough to stave off the late challenge of Jessica Rayne. The time was 1:57.4 and the margin of victory was three-quarters of a length. TT�s Taterchip got up for third.

Wardon�s Daughter is owned by Stahl in partnership with Richard Smith. Nichole Gagnon trains the winner, who got her second win in nine starts this season.

The winners among the freshman trotting fillies were Contessa Leigh and Tiffanys Victory.

Trained and driven by Marty Wollam, Ohio�s trotting master, Contessa Leigh was used hard to get the lead from Royal Fricasee past the opening quarter. She led into the stretch when Royal Fricasee ranged up on her wheel to challenge. Suddenly the challenger was off stride and Contessa Leigh was home free.

�It�s too bad the other filly [Royal Fricasee] broke stride because that would�ve been a great stretch drive,� said Wollam after the race.

Contessa Leigh scored her second win in a trio of career starts and took a 1:59.1 mark for Patricia Wollan and G&B Racing of Pennsylvania. Diplomats Mistress was second and Royal Fricasee third after her error in the homestretch.

Tiffanys Victory looked very polished and professional in winning her second career start for trainer-driver and lessee Ammon Hershberger. She led all the way in an easy-does-it win in 2:02. Trainer Dunn was second and Sweet Annie Kidd finish third.
