Pink Ribbons returns

Pink Ribbons returned to the races with a 2:00.2 qualifying mile at Scioto Downs Thursday morning with Jeff Fout driving.

The mare by Mr. Vic won $120,125 last year for owners Nancy and Kevin Greenfield and June White. The two women are breast cancer survivors and they decided to donate 10 percent of the filly’s earnings to the Victory Center for cancer patients in Toledo, Ohio.

Pink Ribbons hasn’t raced since the Hambletonian Oaks final, where she finished eighth. After the race, it was determined that she bled, popped a gravel, and fractured a P-1 bone in her left hind. Trainer Jim Arledge Jr. is responsible for getting the mare back to the races.
