California-based Standardbred owner Gregg Pistochini has received 60 days in prison and three years’ probation after pleading guilty last week to a misdemeanor charge of receiving stolen property in a case in which he was charged with selling stolen golf balls on eBay. Pistochini’s sentence also includes 120 days of community service and $400 in fines and reimbursements, although the Sacramento Bee is reporting it is expected he will ask for alternative sentencing for the jail time, which could include house arrest or being monitored. Pistochini, whose most well-known horse was world-champion Eaton Road Kill, was arrested last September after it was alleged he purchased the golf balls from a man who had shoplifted them. The balls had a total retail price of $19,000, and the police alleged Pistochini made $9,700 by selling the balls on eBay.
